Zugegeben, im Halbfinale gegen die Italiener habe ich – das erste Mal in meinem Leben – für eine Fußballmannschaft mitgefiebert, und dann auch noch für die Deutschen. Heute gab’s Chili zum Mittag. Selbergemacht natürlich. Lecker! 
Als ich vorgestern nach Tips suchte um mein eigenes Chilirezept zu verbessern, stolperte ich über diesen lustigen Artikel Nobody Knows More About Chili Than I Do. Im Grunde hat der Autor schon recht, allerdings nicht damit, daß er in der Ich-Form schreibt, denn natürlich ist mein Chili das beste 😛

Was mich in letzter Zeit sehr bestürzte, war die Tatsache, daß in Deutschland eine sehr einseitige – pro-israelische – Stimmung durch die Presse erzeugt wird. Selten hört oder liest man etwas zur Sicht der Palästinenser. Telepolis war hier einmal mehr die löbliche Ausnahme:
Viele Palästinenser lehnen die Entführung des Soldaten mittlerweile ab und sagen, dass die israelische Methode, also Überfall und Tötung des Soldaten, eine bessere gewesen wäre.
Interessanterweise hört und liest man mehr über den entführten israelischen Soldaten als über hunderte palästinensische Frauen und Kinder in israelischen Gefängnissen. Continue reading

If you tell BUILD from the WNET DDK to use the W2K settings to build a native application this fails with the reason that _NtProcessStartupForGS@4 could not be resolved. It does not matter whether you try to set UMENTRYABS in the SOURCES file, the problem persists. After some investigation I found that the file i386mk.inc enforces buffer overflow checking by linking against bufferoverflow.lib! Continue reading
A few days ago I had a problem. Someone wanted to demonstrate something to me on his desktop concerning UltraVNC. However, since I was imprisoned behind an external firewall this required the usual tunneling. So I configured an SSH tunnel via my server and established the connection. Everything worked perfectly well.
However, a while after that scenario, the same person (“Borg Number One”) offered me a demonstration about arcane VMWare configuration switches on my own machine. Something I could hardly resists, as curious as I am 😉 Continue reading
