I am trying to contact them since I am interested in buying AQTime, but three trials to contact them failed seemingly. What does it take to get through to the info or sales alias of their domain??????????????

Update: As can be seen from the comments, contact was meanwhile established. Thanks to those at AutomatedQA helping to establish the connection. I also have a license meanwhile and will start blogging about my experiences soon.

I updated ddkbuild.cmd once more so it has turned version 7.0beta5 now. There is a fix for the treatment of build output in Visual Studio 2005 as described in “Memo to self: VS_UNICODE_OUTPUT” as well as some enhancements for the PREfast output and so on. So grab your copy if you are a user of the .cmd version.

Eine angemessene Gebühr für internetfähige PCs (mit Breitbandverfügbarkeit und -anschluß!) wäre rund 2 EUR. Ja richtig, da steht ZWEI. Wie komme ich auf diese irrsinnige Zahl? Nun, da die ARD – und normalerweise müßte man ja den ÖR-Sender mit der wenigsten Internetsendezeit nehmen – weniger als 3 Stunden an Livestreams bzw. ehemaligen Livestreams (sprich Archivmaterial) pro Tag bereitstellt, sollte der PC-Nutzer natürlich auch nur dafür bezahlen. Wir lassen mal außer Acht, daß die Bild- und Tonqualität bei den Streams bedeutend schlechter ist als auf einem normalen Fernsehgerät. Damit sind wir also bei 3h/24h = 1/8. Somit sollte ein Achtel des Preises für die TV-Gebühr angemessen sein. Das wären dann rund 2,10 €.
Die Diskrepanz zwischen Preis und Leistung fällt einem ja erst dann auf, wenn man eben kein Fernsehgerät sondern nur einen Internetanschluß hat, so wie ich hier in Island …

An article on the Strategic Security Blog discusses the ambitions of different countries concerning nuclear arms. While the US is constantly complaining about North Korea, Iran (where nothing is proven) and other countries, they remain silent when it is about Israel or (newly) India. The justification to not intervene in India lies in a new bilateral treaty between the USA and India and, according to General Pace, in the sovereignty of India. Now I wonder whether Iran or North Korea are actually still considered sovereign countries by the US government? Seemingly not, given that India may conduct its tests under the benevolent eyes of the USA. That is obviously because some friends – in the war on terror – are more equal than all enemies to the current US government.
The busy ballistic missile flight testing represents yet another double standard in international security, and suggests that initiatives are needed to limit not only proliferating countries from developing ballistic missiles but also find ways to curtail the programs of the existing nuclear powers.

The US-led coalition promised to bring democracy and freedom to Iraq. After many months there is still no peace in Iraq, no freedom, no democracy. And finally Saddam Hussein – surely a cruel person – was executed. But is the capital punishment a sign for democracy or justice? While I guess many (although not all) US-Americans would agree, I strongly disagree. No one, including a state and its representatives has the right to kill people for whatever reason and under whatever circumstances. Surely this somehwhat spoils the “fun” of war, since killing people is one of the core elements of it, but on the other hand I’d argue that the civil population of any war region in this world would surely agree with me. Killing is inhumane, even killing tyrants!

However, even after five emails from me to the reporter in reply to that report I got no answer. So I wonder whether this report is serious or not. I updated DDKWizard once more to version 1.1.0. And as expected this is the best DDKWizard ever 😉 … I call it the jól-edition … grab it here!
What is new? Well, this time I’ll let you read the manual again :mrgreen:. A whole new chapter has been added to the manual so you are asked to read through this first. The version number did make such a jump because of the overall improvement and added features. The best of those new features is the configuration file which allows you to customize the default settings in the DDKWizard project creation dialog. Another smaller feature is the new project type Win32CUI (Win32 console applications built with the DDK) and many smaller enhancements and one fix for backwards-compatibility.

Unbelievable. Even though the company is aware of their violation of the GPL, they don’t give a shit about it as it seems. They have been aware of it for at least one month now, yet their newest release which bears the version number 1.61 still contains the binary-identical file which is in violation of the GPL since version 1.55 (inclusive!).

The civilized world has shown its superiority again in the reactions after the execution of Angel Diaz by lethal injection in Florida took too long. Instead of finally removing the blemish from the US constitution by abolishing the death penalty forever more, people – and more amazingly human rights activists – request an investigation whether this particular type of execution is unconstitutional.
Oh how superior we Westerners are compared to those countries to which we bring freedom and democracy …

Nachdem schon Altbundeskanzler Kohl bewiesen hat, daß “die Großen” von der deutschen Justiz laufengelassen werden, gibt es nunmehr einen schönen und aktuellen Fall, der die Klassenjustiz in unserem sogenannten Rechtsstaat veranschaulicht. Da hätten wir im Abstand von weniger als einem Monat Herrn Ackermann und Herrn Hoyzer. Während der eine nur mal eben ein paar Milliönchen veruntreut hat, machte der andere das mit einem Betrag um einige Größenordnungen kleiner. Folglich muß der eine zusammen mit Kumpanen nur den Zehnt an den Staat abführen, während der andere 2,5 Jahre ins Kittchen wandert. Ist also alles wie immer in Deutschland.

Nachdem ja nun aufgrund anhaltender Amoklaufdrohungen Killerspiele verboten werden sollen, fordere ich im Zuge dieser Maßnahme auch gleich Autorennspiele zu zu verbieten. Bekanntlich gibt es pro Jahr weit mehr Tote durch Autounfälle als durch Amokläufe. Da einige der Involvierten – und aufgrund des Zusammenhangs von Killerspielen und Amokläufen ließe sich das ja auch auf dieses Thema übertragen – Rennspiele am Computer spielten, gehören diese definitiv verboten.
