Git once again honors its name

So I created a bundle using git bundle create bundlename.bundle --all and when cloning from it I get loads of warning: unrecognized header ....

Looking at the bundle file it’s obvious that data from the repository file contents has leaked into the bundle. Workaround? None.

Git flips me a bird again. As usual.

Mercurial has been more reliable, friendlier and actually helpful. I still can’t understand what the hype is around Git.

The affected repository was cloned from git://sourceware.org/git/binutils-gdb.git and I am using git version 1.7.0.4. The data leaked from the file contents is either from ld/testsuite/ChangeLog-2012 or from ld/testsuite/ChangeLog, more likely the latter. All of those lines look like the output from a GNU make and start with a dash/minus.

PS: yes I have seen this, but it doesn’t help me at all. The version of Git affected is the one that comes with Ubuntu 12.04.
