“Silvesterkonzert 2008”

In Germany New Year’s Eve is called Silvester, called after some saint. The Berlin philharmony gave its “Silvester” concert yesterday and it has been made available on the web as a video stream. Check it out here.

I liked the five American folk songs best, especially number five  … enjoy!

  1. Hi,
My mother was in Berlin when this concert was on and had a recording of it but it’s now lost. The recording isn’t available on the above link anymore. Do you know of any other places that it’s available from?
    Cheers,
    Pa.

Unfortunately I don’t, nope. The “state-driven” TV broadcasters in Germany were forced to remove all content after seven days, with only few exceptions. However, you may be lucky if you contact them directly. Let me know if you need help doing that in German, for example. Use the contact form linked at the top to get in touch with me.
