A colleague sent me this link today, after a short discussion during lunch. It shows again how ridiculous the self-proclaimed universal church is. Never mind the criticism of Harry Potter or having it called “satanism” or so. I just don’t care whether someone is Christian or Satanist or both
What really freaked me out, though, was the following:
The exorcist, with his decades of experience in directly combating evil, explained that J.K. Rowling’s books contain innumerable positive references to magic, “the satanic art”. He noted that the books attempt to make a false distinction between black and white magic, when in fact, the distinction “does not exist, because magic is always a turn to the devil.” (above link)
It appears that Mr. Amorth has a backlog of lessons in “church history”. Let me help a bit. The church had not condemned “magic”, not even “witchcraft” (and thus witches/sorcerers) for a few hundred years after the alleged death of that hypothetical Jesus figure. There were two reasons for this:
- They didn’t want to give those “movements” any PR, but it was actually acknowledged as existent(!)
- The Catholic 1 church performs “magic” everytime during their “Eucharist” celebration up to our modern days. They are – and especially the Catholic church is quite serious about this – performing some magic to transform the wine to the blood of Jesus and the bread to his flesh through transubstantiation. Now, besides being an act of cannibalism (and justified with arguments very similar to those of indigen cannibals), this most definitely counts as magic.
Ridiculous!

- *brr* … didn’t mean to approve, acknowledge or condone their self-proclamation by using “Catholic” 🙄 [↩]
